We believe that West City Christian College is a great place to be, as a team we work hard to develop a love for God, a love for each other, a love of learning and a love of living!

We are unashamedly Christian, the Bible and prayer are woven daily into the program. Staff are expected to be Christian role models, seeking to bring the presence of God into the life of every student who attends West City Christian College. We believe we are training young people to one day effect the nations of the world with the love of God and the message of salvation.

We place a high priority on respecting and encouraging each other and facilitating a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our latest Education Review Office report states, “the school has a pleasant tone that reflects positive relationships between students and staff. Students and teachers relate well and classes have a busy and purposeful atmosphere.”

We cultivate a love of learning and strive for Academic excellence. We use a combination of the New Zealand “Interact” Curriculum, the National Curriculum and the American based School of Tomorrow curriculum. Our class sizes are small, enabling each student to receive plenty of time and attention. Students are encouraged to learn at a level which is equal to their ability.

Engendering a love and enthusiasm for life is another priority. We encourage and expect a high standard of behaviour, effort and enthusiasm from all students. We use positive reinforcement, lots of praise and impart a strong belief that God has awesome plans for each and every student. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own behaviour and when necessary accept correction for unacceptable or inappropriate behaviour.
